iHeartRadioAwards 2016: Social Voting
For the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards, iHeartRadio’s goal was to bring closer fans to their favorite artists.
Working closely with iHeartRadio, Telescope powered the online and Twitter hashtag vote for the Best Fan Army and Most Meme-able Moment. Both of these social votes were open for the first hour and a half of the show, which built excitement for these awards categories winner announcements, driving high engagement and a record number of votes for the show – taking Hashtag Fan Voting to the next level of social engagement trends.
iHeart’s overarching campaign was hugely successful and delivered tons of social media engagement. The official hashtag, #iHeartAwards, trended worldwide and in over 50 U.S. cities on the night of the event and was the 7th most-used music hashtag on all of Twitter. In addition, the excitement surrounding the Best Fan Army and Most Meme-able Moment awards categories winner announcements helped to drive high engagement and a record number of votes for the show.
