MTV and Telescope Launch First Ever Video Music Awards Facebook Messenger Vote
Telescope Connect Live Technology to Provide Real-Time Audience Voting for
Best New Artist Award Presented by Taco Bell®
Los Angeles, Calif., August 19, 2016 – Telescope, the award-winning technology company that powers real-time participation and social experiences, partnered with MTV to launch an industry first with real-time Facebook Messenger voting for the MTV Video Music Awards’ Best New Artist Award presented by Taco Bell®. Begnning today, viewers can cast their vote for their favorite new artist via Messenger.
Fans can vote by clicking “Message” on the MTV Facebook page, MTV website (vma.mtv.com), or searching for MTV on Messenger. After sending the keyword “Vote” to MTV through Messenger, fans will be presented with an auto-reply carousel that displays the artists that can be voted for to receive the Best New Artist Award presented by Taco Bell®. After fans choose their favorite artist, the vote is automatically submitted and tallied. Voting for the Best New Artist Award, presented by Taco Bell® will remain live through the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show airing at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. The top two artists will be revealed during the pre-show, kicking off a live hashtag vote with the winner being announced during the live main telecast.
