We are so proud of being a long-term Facebook partner, and also one of the first companies to integrate the donate button capability, making live fundraising possible for our Facebook Live broadcasts.

One example of how we’ve delivered this functionality was earlier this year, when we worked with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, who raise funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year, to kids across the U.S. and Canada.

The charity is known for their trademark telethons and were looking for a new engaging and exciting ways to put a spin on them. Using Facebook live and a new donate feature seemed like a perfect solution to not only engage a larger audience, but also bring vital awareness to children’s hospitals’ reliance on donations to provide care for kids.

“Every year we recognize pediatric patients from across the U.S. and Canada who serve as ambassadors for our cause. This year, for the first time, we were able to invite the world to experience the energy and excitement of those moments,” said John Lauck, President and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Viewers were able to easily engage and even make donations to support children’s hospitals.”*

Hosted by Nick Cannon, the two-hour Facebook Live-Athon, broadcasted from Walt Disney World, was a huge success. It recognized and celebrated an extraordinary child from each state and Canada who demonstrate the impact of local giving. The fundraising live stream generated and engaged over 341,000 viewers, also raising close to $20,000 for the cause.
