Q1: What is your earliest memory of working for Telescope?
A: My first day we were out of half and half for coffee and the groceries for the week hadn’t arrived, and my job description included assisting the VP of Digital with any necessary tasks, so I had to go to the Ralph’s down the street and pick up a carton of half and half to ensure everyone’s day started out smoothly. I felt very important.
Q2: What do you like most about your job?
A: The people I work with.
Q3: What was your first job?
A: I was a team member at Jamba Juice
Q4: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: A lawyer.
Q5: If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would purchase?
A: I’m really boring and would pay off the remainder of my car, take a nice vacation with my husband, and then put the rest in different accounts to gain more money until the housing market stabilized to buy a house.
Q6: What’s your favorite song right now?
A: Anything Taylor Swift sings will always be my favorite song. She is a lyrical genius.
Q7: What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?
A: My husband and I relocated to Bend, Oregon during the pandemic and I now like to hike, paddle board, snowboard, and mountain bike then check out our local breweries and wineries.
Q8: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: I remember complaining to my mom in college about how stressed out I was about life and all the things I had to accomplish, and she looked at me and said, “Chan, life is really, really long”. So, whenever I get overwhelmed or stressed out, I just like to remember that I still have time and slowing down is what is best for me and the people around me!
Q9: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
A: I usually say read minds, but my colleagues recently have said some really smart ones like speak and understand any language and teleportation, so I guess I’d like to be able to absorb anyone else’s superpower so I could have multiple because one is just too hard to choose. And to clarify, I don’t want to be a supervillain and steal it from them they can still have their superpower, I just want to share!
Q10: What app or piece of tech can’t you live without?
A: Libby – it’s an app that lets you digitally read or listen to audiobooks from your local libraries. Libraries are a really great invention, and this app brings them into the digital age, it’s amazing!
