4 Digital Marketing Trends for 2019
Happy New Year (and welcome back to work)! January marks the start of another trip around the sun, and you know what that means. It’s the start of a fresh set of new year’s resolutions, and the start of another brand new marketing plan.
Digital marketing is moving fast, meaning there are likely some digital marketing trends you haven’t tried out yet. Luckily, we had a big 2018 and had a chance to work on some campaigns that utilized some of the trendiest technology for 2019.
If you’re looking to get your feet wet, but not sure where to start we’re here to help! Below we’ve outlined some of the biggest digital marketing trends for 2019.
1. Shoppable Content
Although it’s had a bit of a slow start, we predict that shoppable content will pick up in the coming year. Apps like Venmo and Apple Pay are helping acquaint consumers with mobile shopping, and as shoppers get more comfortable with this space, social media will follow suit.
2. Alexa Skills
Voice technology exploded onto the digital marketing scene last year, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. By 2022, over half the population is expected to own a smart speaker. Amongst current owners, about 65% say they wouldn’t go back to life without their device.
Voice technology is cool because it offers brands an innovative way to engage with consumers in a humanized way. Last year, smart speaker skills were among our most requested products, which is why we predict it will be a marketing trend for 2019.
3. Live Streaming
Interactive video content is well known as the most effective content in digital marketing, and live streaming has slowly worked its way to the top of that ladder. There’s a reason why live content is so popular: live video gets 3x the engagement of VOD .
In fact, people love it so much that they’re more likely to make purchases after watching live content, and many would even pay to catch a live stream with an influencer they respect.
Now, almost all social platforms offer some form of live content, so if you haven’t live streamed yet, 2019 could be your time to shine.
4. Vertical Video & Mobile Content Marketing
It’s official. The desktop is dead. Well, not really, but people are officially spending more time on their mobile devices than they are on their desktops.
Chances are you’re already incorporating mobile into your digital strategy, but it’s important not to forget social compatibility. 79% of social media time is now spent on mobile , and since video is becoming such a key part of many mobile-first platforms, we predict vertical video will see a big year.BACK TO BLOG & NEWS
