With the 2021 PGA Championships kicking off, their official partner AIG and MKTG turned to Telescope to create an interactive experience for golf fans and viewers at home utilizing our Virtual Event Hub and play along products.
After the fan-less 2020 PGA Championships, due to the global pandemic, the 2021 PGA Championships kicked off on a better foot with limited on-site spectators permitted. Due to the limited attendees, AIG and PGA wanted to create a memorable yet immersive virtual experience for golf fans and viewers at home. In order to successfully launch this virtual event, PGA, AIG and MKTG utilized Telescope's Virtual Event Hub and Predictor with Leaderboard products as well as full livestream production services for the live Q&A sessions each day. For the week leading up to and into the main event, users everywhere had access to exclusive on-demand video content, test their golf knowledge via daily trivia, and the opportunity to ask questions to golf experts during the live sessions all within one custom branded destination hub.
Prior to entering the AIG 2021 PGA Championships Digital Experience, users were asked to login with their email. Users were then presented with a wide variety of on-demand exclusive videos in relation to AIG and PGA. Throughout the week new videos were uploaded, ensuring viewers had fresh content throughout the entire virtual event.
The 'Trivia' page utilized Telescope's Predictor with Leaderboard product which tested users' knowledge of golf. Those who played along could easily see the percentage of each answer users chose and were able to see their overall results and leaderboard standing by simply clicking on the results tab.
The 'Q&A' page gave users a seamless way to send in their questions to golf experts and talents which, if selected, got answered during the 11 livestream sessions (with full production provided by Telescope).
Virtual Event Hub: Customized to the brand, this immersive virtual hub gave users various ways to engage and interact all throughout the PGA Championship week. Email login prior to entering collected user data for future re-marketing.
Predictor with Leaderboard: Gave users a fun way to engage and encouraged them to return daily to play along with new trivia. Results tab gave users an easy way to see their answers, points and overall standing within the leaderboard.
Full Production Services: 11 livestream sessions, that were fully produced by Telescope, were showcased to exclusive users via Webex where they got the inside scoop on all things PGA, AIG and the Championship. Selected questions from the 'Q&A' page that users submitted were asked during the live sessions.
Content and trivia were updated throughout the week to keep the hub fresh and current.
