OVERVIEW

Telescope first partnered with #ChildrensHospitalsWeek Live-athon back in 2017 for an 8 hour livestream to help the the charity build awareness with the general public. In 2018 and 2019, we furthered this goal by focusing storytelling of pediatric patients during our Live-athon. Partnering with Facebook and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we engaged celebrities to tell the kids' stories and engross audiences to help the at home audience gain a better understand of the importance and charitable need of children's hospitals while encouraging them to donate.

HOW IT WORKED

#ChildrensHospitalsWeek Live-athon was streamed to both Facebook and Twitch. Viewers were introduced to more than 20 pediatric patients treated throughout the United States and Canada, focusing on 11 specific stories. Allison Holker-Boss and Stephen "tWitch" Boss interviewed a number of kids and their parents. Each of the children's stories incorporated a personal touch as well as an element of surprise for that specific child. To help with the element of surprise, celebrities such as Katy Perry, Chris Pratt, Adam Devine and Lindsey Stirling participated. But most impactful were the pediatric patients and families' stories which inspired audiences, both new and old, to engage with the cause not only through the livestreams strong viewership and comments but additionally through viewer donations.
