User generated campaign to ask candidates for the 2016 GOP nomination questions live on-air
Fox News wanted to give Facebook users the opportunity to submit questions that would be asked during the first Republican Presidential Debate of the 2016 election.
Prior to the debate, Fox News utilized Telescope’s Uploader product , Facebook users could submit a photo, video, and text questions for the candidates. Fox News was then able to log into Telescope’s CONNECT moderation platform to review and select questions to ask the candidates live on-air. Telescope was then able to send approved questions to VizRT, Fox News on-air graphics provider, to visualize the questions, users Facebook profile photos, and videos on air.
When submitting photo, video, and text questions fans gave approval to use their content on-air.
Allowed the public to control topics and questions they wanted the candidates to answer.
On-Air Integration:
Fans got their 15 seconds of fame by seeing their photo on-air and questions answered by candidates.
Partnership and years of collaboration between Telescope and VizRT allowed for a seamless on-air integration.
