On national #GoSkateboarding Day, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, host Alec Beck, and special guests invited skaters across the US to join the celebration LIVE on TikTok.
Each year on June 21st, skateboarders around the globe join together to celebrate national #GoSkateboarding Day. To further bring awareness to this day, The Skatepark Project (Tony Hawk's nonprofit organization that helps underserved communities build public skateparks for youth) and WCPG turned to Telescope for our live streaming and remote feed production services. The goal was to not only entertain skateboarding fans with some tips and tricks, but more importantly to increase awareness of The Skatepark Project's mission while raising donations throughout the entirety of the stream on TikTok for a great cause.
Skateboarding fans and viewers at home had the ability to tune-in to the Go Skateboarding Day Live Stream through The Skatepark Project's TikTok account. Host & The Skatepark Project's Program Manager, Alec Beck, interviewed legendary skateboarder, Tony Hawk, and guests from the Hawk HQ, as well as 6 guest skateboarders across the US (who were remotely brought in to the stream) located at various skateparks. TikTok's donate button was utilized and shown on-screen throughout the entirety of the live event, with CTA and on-air graphics to encourage viewers to donate to The Skatepark Project.
Two separate camera feeds were implemented at Hawk HQ to capture various moments, with a Telescope operator on-site to offer tech support for the entire duration of the event. The stream switched from Hawk HQ to different locations to highlight additional skateparks and talented skateboarders across the US.
