March For Our Lives: Facebook Live Stream


March For Our Lives is a movement dedicated to student-led activism with the goal to end gun violence and the epidemic of mass shootings.

On March 24th 2018, tens of thousands of high school students and people of all ages took to the streets of Washington DC to advocate for gun control reform in the wake of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida.


Telescope was brought in to power the live stream for March For Our Lives – the largest student protest in U.S. history – utilizing our award winning end-to-end streaming technology platform, Live Studio.

The live stream followed various individuals marching on Washington and exercising their right to protest. It showcased powerful speeches from students Emma Gonzalez, Jaclyn Corin, Edna Chavez and Cameron Kasky – demanding that their lives and safety become a priority. And included heartfelt performances from artists Demi Lovato, Vic Mensa, Ariana Grande and Lin Manuel Miranda.

Several of Live Studio’s engagement graphics and features were incorporated into the stream
(i.e. Viewer Comments To-Air, CTAs, etc.) to help keep viewers and supporters alike up to date and informed. The stream also included a Donate button which gave viewers the opportunity to donate directly to the March For Our Lives non-profit organization- without ever leaving Facebook Live.

In 4 hours, the three streams reached millions of viewers and raised over $116,000 for The March For Our Lives movement.

The stream saw huge engagement with: 1.8M Views, 32K Shares, 93K Reactions and 29.3K Comments – highlighting the saliency and support surrounding March For Our Lives.
