Artists from each state and territory of the US entered into a head-to-head competition for America's votes to win 'America's Best Original Song' in NBC's show, American Song Contest.
NBC kicked off their eight-week live music competition series, American Song Contest, where 56 artists representing their state and territories battled in a head-to-head competition to win 'America's Best Original Song'. With the combination of the jury and America's votes as the deciding factor for the artists' advancement within the competition, NBC leveraged Telescope's voting services to power the audience vote via online, NBC app and TikTok as well as the jury vote via our custom ranking application. Each week the jury and fans at home tuned in to the live airings to cast their votes for their favorite artists.
At-home fans could seamlessly vote for their favorite artists through multiple methods. Voters had the ability to vote up to 10 times per artist during the open voting window each week.
Online: fans could visit NBC's American Song Contest vote site and login or sign up to cast their votes for their favorite artists.
NBC App: fans could utilize their downloaded NBC app to easily cast in their votes. Once the app is opened, users could search "American Song Contest" in the search bar which directed them to the American Song Contest page with a link to the vote page.
TikTok: Those who have TikTok accounts could navigate to the discover tab and search "American Song Contest". Users could click into the show page and were directed to the vote within the native app.
The combination of the jury and fan votes were used to rank the top voted contestants for each state/territory across the US, and assigned points based on who received the most votes within those regions. The points then decided who moved on to the Semi-Finals, to the Grand Finale, and ultimately the winner of 'America’s Best Original Song'.
