BRIT Awards Twitter Vote

GOAL:

 
If there’s one place to see the best of British music together, it’s the BRITs. It’s a magical night where musicians can support one another and fans can celebrate their faves. Majority of category winners are selected by the Voting Academy, made up of 1,000 people who are involved in the music industry.

However, this year the social voting process powered by Team Telescope allowed the British public to have the final say over the British Artist Video of the Year and British Breakthrough Act.

SOLUTION:

 
To capture the pulse of fans in real-time BRITS used Twitter as the key platform for the vote. Fans were able to submit their vote by logging into their Twitter account and “Tweeting” the designated hashtag (as announced on BRITS social media and the website) that corresponds to their chosen nominated act. Fans were allowed one vote per nominee every 24 hours. With each vote, fans could vote for one nominated act or more than one nominated act by Tweeting up to all ten hashtags in the same Tweet.
