As six college basketball players competed for the title of "best slam dunker", their fate landed on the judge's scores as well as fans at home who watched along and voted.
The annual College Slam Dunk and 3-Point championships features 6 skilled college basketball players to compete for the title of best dunker. The event is broadcasted and for multiple years Intersport has turned to Telescope to engage at-home fans by powering a social rating vote based on real-time reactions to the players’ dunks during the live broadcast on ESPN.
By tweeting hashtag #CollegeSlam, the player’s name and a score between 1-10, fans were included into the live voting experience. All tweets were aggregated in Telescope’s custom dashboard and tallied instantaneously to display the player’s average score for each round.
