Comerica Detroit's Biggest Fan

Comerica Bank gathered Detroit sports fans to compete in #DetroitsBiggestFan by leveraging various Telescope products and creating a custom fan-centered hub for all things Detroit sports.

OVERVIEW

In the search for #DetroitsBiggestFan, Comerica Bank invited all Detroit sports teams’ fans to participate in various contests and play-along experiences for the chance to win a $15K grand prize package. Telescope’s Content Creation and Voting products were utilized to assist in the engagement with fans all over Detroit. Ford Field, Little Caesar’s Arena, and local radio stations promoted the contest across social media, during home games, and on-air to maximize fan engagement.

HOW IT WORKED

Anyone in Detroit that called themselves a Lions, Red Wings, or Tiger fan was eligible to enter. To take part in the contest, fans had the option to share their game faces on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram with the hashtag #DetroitsBiggestFan or #DETbiggestfan. Additionally, fans had the option to showcase their fandom by checking into an event or game through Fan Check-In and give a brief explanation to why they believed they were Detroit’s biggest fan. This user generated content was then collected in the Fan Feed where it allowed fans to look at other fan’s contents surrounding all #DetroitsBiggestFan. The individual with the largest number of votes was crowned as Detroit’s number one fan.  

Additionally, a select few of the "biggest fans" were then invited to an exclusive invite-only fans event to play trivia and win prizes on location at a number of the sport team's arenas. These lucky fans not only had fun meeting other super-fans, played team trivia, won prizes but also got the chance to meet some of their sports heroes in person at the event.

KEY FEATURES

  • Standard Vote: Fans were able to vote for who they truly believed was #DetroitsBiggestFan. This encouraged participants to spread awareness and engage their friends to help them win the grand prize.

  • Triple Play: A customized experiential trivia game allowed fans to opt in for some extra fun and sweepstakes.

  • Fan Feed: A central location for all things Detroit’s
    Biggest Fan; easy access for fans who want to scroll through their teams or
    other teams’ content.

  • Uploader: Users were able to simply visit the biggest fan website and check-in while attending a game or event in hopes to win the grand prize.
